Pinoso (Spanish: [piˈnoso]) or El Pinós (Valencian: [eɫ piˈnos]) is a traditional Spanish town which sits located in the mountainous countryside of the Alicante/Murcia border. This traditional town is renowned for the production of fine wines, rock salt and marble. Pinoso has a population of 7,300 and a municipal area of 126 km2. Recently it has experienced a growth in tourism. It encompasses ten districts and is situated 56km from Alicante and Murcia cities.

Is one of the most important cultural and touristic events in Pinoso, it commemorates the independence of Monovar and it is celebrated on the closest Sunday to the 12th February, since that day in 1826 it gained the title of “Real Village”.
El Villazgo is a celebratory day where everybody can enjoy the tradition, the popular folklore and the most traditional and typical food of our village, the best chiefs cook in the street and for all to enjoy.
The Gastronomy of Pinoso is one of its powerful tourist attractions, with a very traditional cuisine. It is noteworthy the excellent dish’s such as “El Arros amb conill i caragols”, los gazpachos, Fassegures, Alls I picat, gachamiga(blana I rulera) and also the traditional and well known homemade sausages and pastries, to accompany these amazing and tasty products we have a great experience in making quality wines.
We celebrate the patron saint festivals in honour of the Virgen del Remedio on the 1st-8th August. It is well known by filling the streets with colour, music, parades and gunpowder (don’t worry no one gets shot), its fairground amusements and the traditional release of the bulls (the bulls are not harmed in any way).
